Kirk Hammett

First off is his tapping sequences. Although he sometimes does them fast (ex. One solo), they are usually slow tempo and easy on the tapping finger. Here is the tapping sequence for the "Am I Evil?"

Next is the use of the wah pedal in most of his solos. Try to improv something on the G, B, or high E string and then add the wah and follow the rhythm of your solo. Add bends to get even more sounds out of the wah. And last but not least is the harmonic vibratos with the whammy bar. If you have a floyd rose or any locking tremolo, beautiful. If you got an ordinary tremolo, it ok. All you gotta do is hit any natural harmonic on the G, B, or high E string and give the bar a little shake or go crazy and shake the bar until it falls off.
